Ovarian tissue is made up of specialized cells and cellular products which make up the ovary. Females have a pair of ovaries located on each side of the abdomen which produce reproductive cells called ova. Women undergoing medical procedures which could cause sterility may have their ovarian tissue cryopreserved for future infertility treatment.
