Identifying Symptoms of a Heat Stroke

WRITTEN BY: Nouran Amin

A heat stroke is when the body loses its ability to cool itself and the body’s core temperature becomes dangerously high. For some individuals, a heat stroke can kill within 30 minutes. It is vital to be able to identify the symptoms of a heat stroke. To recognize a heat stroke, it starts with heat exhaustion with symptoms including rapid breathing, heavy sweating, nausea, a fast weak pulse, a light head, cramping of the muscles, and a feeling of fatigue. It is crucial that if any of these listed symptoms are felt on a hot day, to cool the body down as soon as possible.
