Longest distance swam underwater in one breath by a female using fins. Can you imagine being the Guinness World record-holder of that title? Marina Kazankova, an accomplished freediver, actress, and model from Russia grabbed the record in the waters off of Kralendijk, Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands after swimming an unbelievable 154 meters in a single breath. How did she do it? Kazankova essentially turned herself into a mermaid. (Watch the video to see!)
But surely Kazankova’s mermaid likeness isn’t the only factor that helped her secure the record. As a freediver, she has competed and won the world championship of freediving CMAS (World Underwater Federation) and AIDA (Association Internationale pour le Développement de l'Apnée) and also holds the world record for CMAS. She also identifies herself as a “sports psychologist who helps professional athletes and beginners to become champions to overcome fears and have pleasure from trainings and competitions.” Watch the video to see for yourself how her own hard work and trainings have paid off!
