Meet the Spray That Can Turn Almost Anything Into a Touch-Sensitive Surface

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

From mobile devices to computers, touch screens are almost everywhere these days. In fact, even some lamps have touch-sensitive surfaces that let you toggle it on or off with a single tap.

On the other hand, what if you could turn virtually any object into a touch-sensitive surface and use it as an input device for your computer; sounds cool right? One company is already making that happen in the form of a spray-on product known as Electrick.

You can apply the special conductive compound to any surface with a spray can, much like you would with spray paint. Electrodes are then used to pinpoint how and where you touch the object, allowing software to interact with your actions.

There are a plethora of potential uses for the spray, such as crafting homebrew game controllers and manufacturing touch-sensitive steering wheels, among other things. The product is so versatile that it should be exciting to see just how creative minds will harness Electrick to its full potential.
