MIT and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Approve Five Joint Projects for Funding

WRITTEN BY: Ilene Schneider
As part of what is called the MIT-Israel-BGU Seed Fund, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) in Beersheba, Israel, and the Massachusetts institute of Technology (MIT) recently approved five joint research proposals for funding, supporting new collaborations between faculty and research scientists at the two universities.

BGU and MIT signed the agreement last May to create the MIT-BGU Seed Fund, to promote and support early-stage collaborations. It is the first seed fund that MIT has launched in Israel through its MIT International Science and Technology (MISTI) Initiative. Many of the joint projects funded lead to publications, additional grant awards and the development of long-term relationships between international researchers and MIT faculty and students.
