The study demonstrated that RNA can be reliably detected and quantified in peripheral blood collected into the RNA tubes, while comparing RNA levels between patients with various conditions including diabetic retinopathy, and thyroid cancer. This study emphasized the successful downstream application of PAXgene® Blood RNA Tubes in immunogenomic investigations and provides valuable insight into how these tubes contribute to various research by ensuring accurate and reliable results for molecular diagnostic testing.

Collecting blood for RNA stabilization and isolation can be challenging, as RNA transcript levels exhibit rabid and substantial changes due to factors such as post-phlebotomy gene induction, cell death and enzymatic RNA degradation. These fluctuations can ultimately result in greater variability in RNA quantity and yield. An effective solution has been the use and application of the RNA PAXgene® Blood RNA system.
