Transcytosis
Transcytosis is a type of cellular transport in which macromolecules are moved across the inside of a cell. A receptor recognizes a ligand which is then taken up into a vesicle and transported across the cell. The macromolecules are then released on the opposite side of the cell via exocytosis.
