COVID-19 is an infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. There are many testing methods available for COVID-19. At-home COVID-19 tests or rapid PCR tests detect current infection by identifying the presence or absence of antigen. A more reliable testing option is a PCR test, or nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) which detect viral genetic material and need to be performed using laboratory analysis.
