Sound Localization
Sound localization is the capability to identify distance, direction, and origin of a detected sound. Mammals auditory systems' use techniques such as: time-level differences between ears, source localization, timing analysis, pattern matching, spectral information, and correlation analysis to differentiate sound cues. Sound localization is considered to be an evolutionary advantage for species with these capabilities.
