Pharmabiotics, also called live biotherapeutic products (LBP) are bacterial cells of human origin that can serve a pharmacological role in health. Pharmabiotics are administered directly to patients to treat a disease. The major goal of pharmabiotics is to replenish bacteria needed to alleviate the symptoms of an illness.
