Medical Ethics: Bioethicists often refer to the four basic principles of health care ethics when evaluating the merits and difficulties of medical procedures. Ideally, for a medical practice to be considered "ethical", it must respect all four of these principles: autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence. Medical ethics is based on a set of values that professionals can refer to in the case of any confusion or conflict. These tenets allow doctors, care providers, and families to create a treatment plan and work towards the same common goal without any conflict.
