Stem cells are the cells from which specialized cells, such as blood cells, brain cells, or muscle cells are derived. Hepatic stem cells (HpSCs) are stem cells found in the liver. Many experts hypothesize that HpSCs are responsible for the regenerative characteristics of the liver.
