An Enhancer is a small section of DNA that can be used to bind protein together in order to increase the probability that the transcription of a specific gene will develop. There are hundreds of thousands of Enhancers that can be found in Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells within the human genome. Enhancers are cis-regulatory elements, which regulate the transcription of nearby genes and are an essential part of genetic regulatory networks.
