Biomarkers are biological molecules released into the blood that can be linked to a biological process or a disease. Cardiovascular biomarkers are released into the blood when the heart is damaged or undergoing stress. Monitoring cardiovascular biomarkers can help identify diseases like acute coronary syndrome and cardiac ischemia.
