The term Bench-to-Bedside is used to describe the process of utilizing results generated in the laboratory to influence clinical practice to benefit patients. The workflow involved in Bench-to-Bedside research is complex and can take several years to complete. The bench-to-Bedside process is sometimes called translational research because it "translates" information gained through laboratory studies into strategies that can be used clinically.
