VMAT 1 (G-12) Alexa Fluor® 546 | Santa Cruz Biotechnology

mouse monoclonal IgG2b; VMAT 1 Antibody (G-12) is an IgG2b κ mouse monoclonal VMAT 1 antibody (also designated SLC18A1 antibody, VMAT1 antibody or VAT1 antibody) that detects the VMAT 1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. VMAT 1 Antibody (G-12) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-VMAT 1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-VMAT 1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Neurotransmission depends on the regulated exocytotic release of chemical transmitter molecules. This requires the packaging of these substances into the specialized secretory vesicles of neurons and neuroendocrine cells, a process mediated by specific vesicular transporters. The family of genes encoding the vesicular transporters of monoamines (VMAT 1 and VMAT 2) and acetylcholine (VACht) have been cloned and functionally characterized. The sequence of these integral membrane proteins predicts twelve transmembrane domains and weak homology to a class of bacterial antibiotic resistance proteins. The vesicular transport of neurotransmitter molecules has been shown to be an active ATP- and proton dependent transport mechanism.
