Nutritional metabolomics (i.e., the study of chemical processes involving metabolites or the samell molecule substrate, intermediates, and products in cell metabolism) focuses on active metabolites or nutrients among the thousands of components in the metabolome that are associated with effects that different diets can have on humans.
