The glymphatic system was discovered in 2012 as an irrigation system in which cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is distributed to the brain via peri-arterial pathways. Such CSF circulation subsequently mediates the clearance of interstitial solutes from the brain, including amyloid beta peptides. In this webinar, Dr. Lundgaard will provide an update on the potential within this field while additionally describing her lab’s experience of being the first to apply optical clearing techniques and light sheet microscopy to the study of the glymphatic system.
Learning Objectives
- Define what the glymphatic system is
- Describe how optical clearing works
- Distinguish if light sheet microscopy is useful for your research
Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
