The versatility of CRISPR-Cas9 has expanded the available toolset of gene editing systems for life scientists. However, these experiments require detailed knowledge of the genomic sequences, both from public reference databases as well as the editing outcomes. Obtaining proper bioinformatics support for either of these steps can be a challenge for both novices and experts. To this end, Thermo Fisher Scientific has built several software solutions to improve the usability of the CRISPR-Cas9 system by addressing two major challenges; the design of gRNAs and corresponding donor sequences, and confirmation of editing success at the sequence level through Sanger sequencing deconvolution.
This seminar will highlight our recent advancements in digital tools, including demonstrations of the Invitrogen TrueDesign Genome Editor online design tool and the Applied Biosystems SeqScreener Gene Edit Confirmation App.
