Point-of-care testing (POCT) is diagnostic testing at the time and place of patient care in a physician’s office, an ambulance, a mobile clinic, at home or in hospital. Rapid POC testing yields actionable results and rapid treatment of patients. Until now, POC tests based on lateral flow technology have suffered of limitations in sensitivity, specificity, the lack of multiplexing and the questionable reliability of results obtained visually by the users. To address these limitations, Chembio has developed an advanced rapid POC testing solution, the DPP® System combining its Dual Path Platform (DPP®) disposable cartridges with its optical analyzer (DPP® Reader). The DPP® System provides users with a complete solution for rapid testing at the Point of Care. The DPP® System requires one small sample from the patient, minimum hands-on time, short turn-around time, and provides multiple results in one operation, free from human bias. During the webinar “Advances in POC Testing for infectious diseases”, we will introduce the advanced DPP® technology, the optical analyzer, and demonstrate the power of the DPP® Systems in detecting multiple biomarkers at the Point of Care.
Learning Objectives:
1. Current needs and status of POC diagnostics in infectious diseases
2. What is DPP technology and how it differs from the current lateral flow technology
3. Application of DPP technology in multiplex testing
4. How the combination of DPP technology and a hand held digital reader in POC testing improves testing accuracy
