BIOGRAPHY
The world has created many great works of art and monumental buildings. The challenge is to maintain them for future generations. The advancement of analytical sciences over the past half century has delivered many analytical tools that have helped guide art and architecture preservation and restoration. As these practices have become more sophisticated, ion chromatography (IC) is one of the tools those charged with preservation and restoration are using. This presentation will review how IC is being used by these analysts, what they have learned, and what their applications can teach us about the practice of IC.
