Abstract
Mariana Kiehl (Sr. Applications Scientist at Roche Sequencing & Life Science) describes the KAPA Total Prep FFPE workflow, a novel single-tube method for combined sequencing of DNA and RNA from FFPE tumor tissue samples. She explains how the method works and why it is such a powerful tool for gaining a deeper understanding of the complex biological processes within cells. Dr. Kiehl describes how this method overcomes several hurdles that can block the success of truly paired sequencing.

The KAPA Total Prep workflow:
  • Saves sample processing time and resources by combining DNA and RNA workflows in a single tube
  • Preserves precious tissue sample that is typically available in small amounts for analysis
  • Reduces bias from the heterogeneous tumor tissue by providing comprehensive paired profiling from a single input sample
  • Eliminates the need for ribosomal RNA depletion by including target enrichment
