Abstract
This is the first topic in the webinar series on ‘Predictive Genomics for Population & Personalized Health’.

A major challenge for healthcare providers and geneticists is to learn how SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 disease, interacts with the human genome and to stratify populations in order to understand disease susceptibility, severity, and outcomes.

For such studies in predictive genomics, we are launching the Applied Biosystems™ Axiom™ Human Genotyping SARS-CoV-2 Research Array with a COVID-19 research module covering various genes and pathways such as ACE2, TMPRSS2, and the NOTCH pathway that are implicated in SARS-CoV-2 host genetics. In addition, the array has a large GWAS module (>820,000 markers) that can serve to conduct association studies to understand the interactions with underlying conditions including COPD, cardiovascular disease, and kidney disease, and to help identify targets that can be treated with drugs.

Learning Objectives:
  • Extend epidemiological research to host genetics to study SARS-CoV-2 infectious disease
  • Review whole genome technology purpose to stratify populations by risk to manage disease
  • Choose a new whole-genome array for SARS-CoV-2 infection research

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
