Hospital laboratories perform tests serving patients with many different underlying disease states, managed by different providers with different educational and training backgrounds. As such, medical laboratory professionals may be called on to provide information to providers about how a test works, potential interfering substances, best practices for sample collection, and other details. In this webinar, we will discuss different areas related to coagulation testing which providers outside the lab may need help to fully understand, including anti-Xa for anticoagulant monitoring, D-dimer for thrombosis exclusion, and heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) screening.
