Abstract

Analysis of Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) with high-resolution accurate-mass (HRAM) mass spectrometry  offers significant advantages and allows for identification of single amino acid variants; In contrast, both normal and deleterious sequence variants might be missed by immunoassays or non-HRAM-MS methods. This webinar will highlight a robust and reliable method that was developed to identify IGF-1 variants and distinguish them by a center of mass (COM) calculation, followed by various tandem-MS activation techniques (HCD, ETD, ETciD, EThcD, UVPD) using Thermo Scientific™ Orbitrap™-based mass spectrometry systems.

For General Lab Use Only - Not For Diagnostic Procedures.

Learning Objectives:

  1. How to use mass spectrometry to detect single amino acid differences in IGF-1 variants.
  2. How to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of other peptides/proteins in clinical research settings that might lend itself to the characterization of other protein variations.
  3. Demonstrate the power of high resolution to detect protein and peptide analytes in complex biological matrices.

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
