Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a laboratory procedure to visualize cells and cellular components in a section of tissue. Tissue is sectioned onto a glass microscope slide and stained with antibodies or dyes that bind to a known cellular marker. The stained components can be viewed with a microscope.
