Posters

All of Labroots virtual events feature a poster hall where submissions are welcome and free of cost.

Poster presentations take place during each of Labroots' virtual events and provide an opportunity for authors to share their research findings and insights with a worldwide audience, minus the submission fees or travel costs!

Virtual poster sessions offer the opportunity to present data to a global audience via a PDF poster, video summary, and discussion opportunities with interested colleagues through email and 1 to 1 chat. Final posters should be submitted as a PDF, the standard size is 48 x 36, both landscape and portrait can be accommodated, no larger than 6MB. Presentations should incorporate illustrative materials such as tables, graphs, photographs, and large-print text.

To submit a poster for an event, simply navigate to that event page, click on the 'posters' subheader, and click 'Begin Submission.' Once there, you can fill out your personal information, poster title, and abstract (500 character max). You can then upload your poster as a .pdf and have the option to add an audio or video clip in .mp4 format.

If you do not wish to automatically be entered into the Labroots Poster Competition for a given event, make sure to click the box next to the text that reads "Automatically opt-out of the poster competition for this event".

Finally, click submit at the bottom of the page and you're ready to go! You will be notified within one week of receipt of acceptance status.

Sponsored posters are not eligible for the poster competition.

Where can I view my poster submissions?

Your poster submissions can be found on your profile page. Hover over your avatar in the upper right-hand corner and click ‘Profile’. Click the hamburger menu next to about and you will see ‘Submissions & Sign Ups’, click ‘Posters’. Here you will be able to see all of your poster submissions, as well as edit any submissions.

What does the winner of the poster competition receive?

The winning author(s) and their research will be featured in a Labroots Trending Science News article written by a specialist in the field. This article will be distributed to over 30,000 Labroots Newsletter subscribers and will be highlighted on our social media pages to provide increased global reach.

When will the poster competition winner be announced?

The winner of the Labroots Poster Competition will be announced after the virtual poster symposium. The winner(s) will then have the option to be interviewed by a science writer and provide quotes describing the importance of their work.

How is the poster winner chosen?

Posters will be assessed and voted on by an anonymous board of Labroots conference organizers in the following categories: originality, innovation, impact, and organization.
