The Artemis Sr Rover could become the next big thing in space exploration. With its eight wheels and unique frame-lifting suspension system, the rover exhibits authoritative off-road capabilities unlike any other rover in its class.
The Artemis Sr Rover's eight wheels move in such a way that the vehicle maintains excellent traction in any terrain. Notably, it performs well in rugged environments with loose gravel and hills, such as those found on Mars or the Moon.
Citing the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the Artemis Sr Rover weighs approximately 1,100 pounds and can carry an additional 600 pounds. That said, there's enough wiggle room to mount critical planetary science equipment on the rover's versatile frame.
It should be interesting to see if the Artemis Sr Rover ever graduates from the testing stages and moves on to real-world use. After all, it looks like a capable exploration machine.
