Too often in science, the people producing results and advancing our collective understanding are little more than names on publications. You might be lucky enough to see them speak at a conference, or attend a webinar from them, but it’s rare that you get to know them on a meaningful level. To know their story, to know their journey within science, to know what motivates them, etc. This is where Bringing Chemistry to Life, a Thermo Fisher Scientific podcast series, is changing things.
Now in its fourth season, the Bringing Chemistry to Life podcast series features casual conversations with some of today’s brightest chemical minds. Guests of the series are diverse in where they work, the science they do, the seniority of their careers, and many other ways too. What’s common between them all though is a love of science and a willingness to share their story with the host, Paolo Braiuca, and you.
These intimate conversations delve into how they each discovered and fell in love with science, their career path journeys, challenges they’ve faced and how they overcame them, where they find their joy and inspiration, and what advice they have for other scientists. In this way, it’s rare that listeners don’t identify, and find commonality, with the guests. At the end of each episode you’ll feel like you actually know the guest, some of which are honest-to-goodness rock stars of chemistry by the way!
Jump into season 4 of the series, with new episodes dropping regularly, to hear conversations with guests covering topics as diverse as green chemistry, computational chemistry, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, electrochemistry, astrochemistry, and more. It’s a great way to learn about some great science, but even more so, it’s a way to learn about the wonderful people behind the great science!
